Earl Norem, R.I.P.

I’m not sure how this flew under my radar, but I just learned that Earl Norem passed away in June of this year. Mr. Norem painted many wonderful covers for Martin Goodman’s line of “sweat mags” and Marvel’s magazine format comics. He was 92 years old.

Jay Scott Pike, R.I.P.

A very talented Golden Age and Silver Age comic book artist recently passed away.
Jay Scott Pike, 91, of Sarasota, FL died on September 13, 2015.

Fred Kida, R.I.P.

I loved Fred’s artwork, especially for the Golden Age Air Fighters series. Haven’t added a new post to this blog for way too long. Sadly, death once again compels me to report. Many more names will be coming soon….

Jesse Santos, RIP

This announcement is a bit late. I am sad to report that Jesse Santos has passed away. Jesse was born in the Philippines and drew for several of the very earliest native Filipino comic books. He later moved to the US and drew many popular comics for Gold Key. An obituary can be found here:
