I am sad to report that Gene Colan has shuffled off this mortal coil. I was never a big fan, but he was undoubtedly a great artist of the Silver, Bronze, and Modern Ages of comic books. My first exposure to him was DC’s “Night Force” in the 1980s. Many other comic fans fondly remember his run on mainstream Marvel superhero titles like Captain America and Daredevil. Personally, I admired his work for the Warren series Blazing Combat.
