Here is a vintage Black Cat matchbook I bought on eBay a few years ago. Never seen another, I guess it is rare? Definitely a fun piece of Harvey Comics memorabilia.

I belong to a group called the Comic & Fantasy Art Amateur Press Association (CFA-APA) dedicated to writing about… comic and fantasy art. I recently wrote this article about artist Jack Kamen’s 1950s romance comic art published by Harvey Comics. If that sounds like something of interest, I invite you to check it out.
Long time comic art collector Don Lineberger lost his life in a house fire recently. His world-class collection of art was believed lost in the same fire. However there are reports filtering out of San Diego that some of the artwork survived the fire, protected in a steel box. The word is that some pieces suffered damage, but others are still in very good shape. While we all grieve for Don and his family, it is exciting to learn that some historic pieces of comic art have emerged intact from the tragedy.
