Welcome to my gallery of classic comic covers. I've been collecting comic books for over 25 years and made this web site to share some of my favorite covers. All of the covers, with a very few exceptions, are (or were) from my personal collection. Have a question or a comment? E-mail me, my name's Ben.

Better Things Panel Description: Comic-Con International 2011
Thursday, July 21st
7:30 pm - 8:30 pm Jeffrey Catherine Jones: The Documentary — Filmmaker Maria Cabardo is joined by artists Bill Sienkiewicz (Elektra: Assassin), Mark Bode (Cobalt 60), Rick Berry (Sparrow #6, Double Memory), Robert Wiener (Donald M. Using interviews with Jones and a wide range of family, friends and colleagues, the film explores the late artist’s fascinating, challenging life and unique journey through the worlds of comics, illustration and fine art. Moderated by John Butler. Room 4.

Gene Colan R.I.P. - 1926-2011

I am sad to report that Gene Colan has shuffled off this mortal coil. I was never a big fan, but he was undoubtedly a great artist of the Silver, Bronze, and Modern Ages of comic books. My first exposure to him was DC’s “Night Force” in the 1980s. Many other comic fans fondly remember his run on mainstream Marvel superhero titles like Captain America and Daredevil. Personally, I admired his work for the Warren series Blazing Combat.

Battle Report #6

I’m back, with a new war comic cover: Battle Report #6.

Like Attack! #8 and War Report #5, this one features the racial slur “gook” on the cover. This is only the third comic I have found that dared to be so non-”P.C.”

Pulps and vintage

Hello everyone, I’ve got a modest selection of pulps, pulp-like magazines, sweat mags, “girlie” mags, and skin magazines for auction on eBay right now. Sorry, no comic books. Here is the link, if you’re interested.

Ok, the auctions are over. They did really well! Much better than any of my recent comic book auctions on eBay. This magazine seemed to get a lot of attention:
