A bar of radium and a melting face. This is a classic horror comic cover by
any measure. There is a story inside this comic titled "White Heat," which
involves deadly radiation, but it does not feature the scene pictured on the
cover.
The identity of this cover's artist has been the subject of some dispute. The
Overstreet Price Guide (and many others) credit Warren Kremer, an artist I
admire and respect greatly. However, after much consideration I have come to the
conclusion that the artwork shows every sign of being by Harvey cover art
regular Lee Elias. I'm pleased to see that the absolutely wonderful Grand Comic
Database Project
