Sensation 109, 1952

Sensation 109, 1952

Sensation Comics had long been the home of Wonder Woman, but at issue #107 the format changed to mystery. In fact, this is the last issue to bear the title Sensation Comics, it changed to Sensation Mystery with #110 but was cancelled after it's 116th issue. The Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide notes that this issue is "scarce", and the Johnny Peril story inside has artwork by Alex Toth.

I love this cover by Gil Kane for the sheer bizarreness of those rebelious fingers. This cover was obviously the inspiration for the classic Justic League of America #10, illustrating a tale called "The Fantastic Fingers of Felix Faust".
