Cow Puncher 6, 1949![]() Like the Jungle Adventure genre, cowboy comics were popular in the 1950's but fell out of favor in the 1960's and are virtually unknown today. This issue is a example of a woman serving no useful function except as decoration - with sex being the selling point. As was often the case, the cover girl is tied up. This comic was published by Avon. Yes, Avon. They published a line of comic books in the 1950's. All genres were represented, even Jungle Adventure and Cowboy, but title runs were short. Cow Puncher lasted only 7 issues.
