Crime Reporter 1, 1948

There's something about the way that bracelet and necklace are dangling off our lovely jumper that make me think she's a jewel thief making her getaway and not an innocent secretary fleeing the robber/arsonist. That would technically make this a bad girl/crime cover, not a good girl but she is a good looking girl and my crime/horror gallery is getting full - so here she is among the good girls!

Crime Reporter 2 & 3 had covers drawn by the legendary Matt Baker. This cover isn't signed - and it doesn't look like Baker art to me. If I had to guess I'd say the artwork is by future EC artist Johnny Craig! (After some additional consideration, I no longer believe this to be the work of Craig. But I still think it looks fairly Craig-ish.) 

P.S. I no longer own this comic, it was sold in April 2003 for $70.
