Amazing-Man 22, 1941

Amazing-Man 22, 1941

A really classic cover drawn by Paul Gustavson. Published by Centaur. I don't have this comic, so I can't comment on the contents but the cover alone makes this book something else! Amazing-Man was a very early superhero and I'm not an expert on the character, but it seems he was super-fast, super-strong, and could turn into a green mist at will. (This was all thanks to training from Tibetan monks!)

But even better than Amazing-Man himself are the giant, green, Nazi gorillas that he's fighting on the cover! I'm glad they wear swastika headbands or it would be hard to know that they're Nazi gorillas! I gotta say, gorillas are always cool on a comic cover, especially giant gorillas - but even better are giant green gorillas. And of course, the only thing better than a giant green gorilla is (you guessed it!) a giant green Nazi gorilla!

They just don't make comics like THIS anymore, do they!?!
