Piracy 6, 1954
After the coming of the Comics Code EC was forced to stop publication of it's
horror comics. In their place EC tried a few "New Direction" titles
dealing with different subject matter- medical doctors, psychotherapy, newspaper
men, or in this case, pirates. Piracy didn't last long, but the series did
feature this beautiful cover by Bernard
Krigstein. Great composition and color work, I can just feel the sun beating
down, the isolation, and the cool green saltwater teasing the thirsty mariner
adrift at sea.
